Our Roots Run Deep
From a single tunnel and a passion for fungi, we've grown into a thriving community hub for sustainable agriculture and education.
A Dream Born Underground
In 2018, mycologist Dr. Lena Hargrove and environmental engineer Marcus Chen discovered an abandoned limestone tunnel network beneath the hills of the Willowbrook Valley. They saw potential where others saw darkness.
The tunnels maintained a steady 55Β°F temperature and 90% humidity year-round β nature's perfect incubator for gourmet mushrooms. What started with a small batch of oyster mushrooms has grown into a 20,000 sq ft underground farm producing over 12 varieties of premium fungi.
Today, our farm serves as both a commercial growing operation and an educational center, welcoming thousands of visitors each year to experience the magic beneath the surface.
Growing Through the Years
The Discovery
Dr. Hargrove and Marcus Chen explore the abandoned tunnel network and begin their first mushroom cultivation experiments.
Organic Certification
Achieved full organic certification. Expanded to 5 mushroom varieties and began selling at local farmers' markets.
Tours Launch
Opened the tunnels for guided eco-tours, sharing the wonder of underground farming with the public for the first time.
Major Expansion
Tripled growing capacity to 20,000 sq ft. Launched volunteer programs and school field trip partnerships.
Award Recognition
Named "Best Agritourism Experience" by the Regional Sustainable Agriculture Board. Welcomed our 5,000th tour guest.
The Future
Launching our online shop, subscription boxes, and expanded educational programming to reach mushroom enthusiasts worldwide.
Our Core Values
Environmental Stewardship
Every decision we make considers its impact on the ecosystem. We operate as a carbon-negative facility, returning more to the earth than we take.
Scientific Excellence
Our cultivation methods blend traditional mycology with modern research, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in sustainable agriculture.
Education First
We believe knowledge grows best when shared. Our tours, workshops, and resources make mycology accessible and inspiring for everyone.
Community Connection
We're more than a farm β we're a gathering place for curious minds, aspiring growers, and anyone who appreciates the wonder of nature.
